I’m Mahdi. I lead design at the world’s largest AI community.
At GenAI.works, I'm the main designer for the editorial campaigns and sponsored programs that brands like Nvidia, Google, IBM, Oracle, ElevenLabs, and others run across our LinkedIn community of 13M+ members. I also work alongside the team building GenAI.works Academy, our learning platform for people getting into AI.
Seven years in, most of my work lives at the intersection of product, visual, branding, and motion design. The connecting thread is the same problem I keep coming back to: how to take a dense technical or AI concept and design it so a skeptical, scroll-happy audience actually stops and gets it.
That problem has shaped my taste. I’ve come to believe design earns its keep by being useful and honest before it’s beautiful, especially for audiences who can smell a polished asset trying to sell them something. Most of what I make leans editorial in that sense, whether it’s a sponsored post on someone’s feed, a product interface for AI, fintech, Web3, edtech, or no-code teams, or a brand system that has to work across every channel it touches.
Fun fact: Outside of design, I’m an award-winning photographer. My work has been featured in exhibitions and competitions, and the discipline of capturing strong visual narratives continues to shape how I approach design.
